It was only a couple of weeks back that Brisbane city and a greater part of eastern Australia were overwhelmed by flood waters. In its wake, thousands of people have had homes destroyed, some are left with nothing.
The best thing to come out of the chaos what the kindness and support of strangers, thousands of volunteer…s helped in the early cleanup and plenty more have played their part in ensuring a hasty recovery for all involved.
Playing our part, with support from some of our favourite artists across the country, Nine Lives is very happy to announce ‘High Water’ the online art auction raising money for the QLD Flood Appeal.
Reg Mombassa, Kill Pixie, Jeff Raglus, Yimmy Yayo, Joseph Allen Shea and a whole host more!
Get behind the cause… for it, you’ll get a piece of art and all of the proceeds go directly to helping people.

“I just returned this morning from being in the flood ravished city of Brisbane, Australia. With the international attention around the floods I decided to immediately fly from Sydney to Brisbane to make this site specific stencil. Unfortunately I had another stencil that Friday night I got arrested for right in the middle of painting! oughf! I spent 10 hours in jail, had a court appearance and got a decent fine so this piece is the only 1 I can submit and offer for you. I tried my best not to make fun at this drastic and horrific situation but instead to empathize and portray just how serious and large the scale of these floods had been with the relative depiction of “NOAH’s” ark being sunk due to the floods.”

“We will be painting the inside of the atrium while renovations take place, the wall will be up for a month then another crew will come in and paint. Kind of like a city laneway but in a national gallery, if that makes sense.”
