In preparation for tonight’s opening of “Here Today Gone Tomorrow”, ABOVE got to work late yesterday afternoon on painting his message big and bold in one of Sydney’s busiest intersections, Taylor Square. The show opens tonight, 6pm.

Over the past 4 weeks Above has been in Sydney preparing for his solo exhibition at Lo-Fi Collective. Check out the last in a series of 3 videos documenting the resin coating process. Oh, and get to Lo-Fi Collective this Thursday night at 6pm. First 50 in the door get gift packs!!!
ABOVE has been in Australia for a little while now, painting in Brisbane and getting ready for his debut Australian show in Sydney (and from what we’ve heard, his first EVER solo exhibition). Well known for his arrows and wordplays, we were lucky enough to get a few photos sent to us that indicated that his show will consist of a massive new body of work including both arrows and wordplays. From what ABOVE has told us, this show promises to be an eyegasm of colour & texture that explores the phrase “Here today gone tomorrow”, a phrase that has deep meaning and close relevance to recent life experiences he has been through.
See below for some shots of the progress. Click here to get updates from the man himself.

Last night was the much anticipated re-opening of Lo-Fi Collective’s doors. The crowds of people both upstairs and downstairs were true testiment that Lo-Fi is a much needed space in Sydney. We welcome the open doors and the next 3 artists (Roland, Above and Does).
The exhibition showcased all of the WDV’s artist collaborations prints, their whole range of tees and a big feature wall by Tiger,Onshow and Joome. Check out a full album of photos on facebook here.

“Backwoods Gallery is pleased to announce Acid Over Easy, a solo show by Zach Johnsen featuring the continuation of the explosive “Acid in the Ice Cream” series.”

Tonight at 6pm, Lo-Fi Collective opens its doors for 2011 with Well Dressed Vandals – High End Hoodlums. A collection of rap sprays and garments by the Well Dressed Vandals & friends.

We love creepy. He was recently in Sydney late last year for the Beastman,Phibs,Max Berry Group show and even got round to painting a roller door here and there. Busy busy busy, and it seems this year is no different with this new big character wall in a Perth warehouse. See below for the video.
Adnate’s next Solo Exhibition, ‘Signs of Life’ opens this Friday 11th Feb at the new No Vacancy Gallery Project Space. Tenancy 32 The Atrium, Federation Square (Enter from Flinders St, opposite Hosier Lne).
Matt ‘Adnate’ is one of Melbourne’s most talented and hard working painters. If you’re in Melbourne, get down to No Vacancy this Friday 6-9pm.

Bit late on this one. Everfresh just installed and completed a two layered mural at the NGV. Really forward thinking idea, as always from the Everfresh lads.
