This looks quite extraordinary, if its what we think it will be.
Learn your history kids.

In the 1970′s a spontaneous art movement exploded throughout New York City : Graffiti.
RTIST Gallery is proud to host the Godfathers of this movement with a world first.
The New York City Kings group show will feature work from 24 of New York’s biggest train
painters and bombers from various crews and train-lines covering the entire state of NYC.
Exploring new and old work from the Kings who helped pioneer this world-wide
movement, the exhibition will include original works on canvas, paper, maps, sketch
books, photography and prints. “This is the largest line-up of NYC’s graffiti community
assembled in recent years outside of the USA” states Jeremy Gaschk Head Curator at
RTIST. The RTIST space will be transformed with an explosion of installations (designed
by 1986.) to showcase the heart of the NYC graffiti movement and celebrate the artists
that changed the world’s art scene forever. Live performances from Dj Peril and King
Excel of the Zulu Nation Melbourne Chapter, will also be spinning those rare east coast
classics on the night.
Artists included in this Goliath show include:
PARTONE, TRACY 168, NOC167
KET, EZO, GHOST, BLADE, MARE139, FUZZONE, TKID, IZ THE WIZ,

So by now you might have seen a bunch of coverage from the Pow Wow event in Hawaii. But I guess because there are so many artists involved now, some of the action goes by un-noticed.
Phibs was one of the Australian artists over there doing his thing, and he even got some front page news love. Click here to see more photos of Phibs’ trip to Hawaii.

This Friday is the opening of Reka‘s solo show ‘Primary Suspects’ at Backwoods Gallery in Melbourne.
His last show at Backwoods, ‘Down Low Too Slow’ was a huge success, so we are really excited to see this new collection of work. In between painting a bunch of large scale outdoor walls, Reka has been uber busy in the studio, creating these new works on canvas and old, used and rusted spraycans.
‘Primary Suspects’ opens at Backwoods Gallery
Friday 2nd March, 6-9pm
He took some time to send us a few photos of the work in progress. Check it out.
