Oi You! Festival – Adelaide

Not many people know about Adelaide’s busy art scene, but by now you most definitely should.

Oi You! Festival recently opened with a giant collection of originals and prints from some of the world’s most reknown street and graffiti artists including Bansky, Phil Frost, Faile, David Choe and many more. Along with the exhibition came art giveaways, screenings, street art tours and a series of large scale murals painted around Adealide city by Rone, Lister, Vans the Omega, Beastman, Kab 101, Gary Seaman, Seb Humphreys and more.

We caught some of the murals as they were being painted around town. See the full set below, a few images were taken by Adelaide Street art, Vandalog and Graff Central.

Oi You street art festival – Adelaide

Adelaide doesn’t get as much attention as it should. We’ve been there a bunch of times and experienced some of the most talented and hard working artists in the country do their thing. For example Vans The Omega is from Adelaide, and he is one of the most recognized graffiti artists in the world. Also for example, Rawhide (Ankles & Smiles) are some of the busiest and most creative roller/type artists we’ve come across. We could go on, but we won’t, because Oi You Festival is going to showcase all that Adelaide has to offer and ALOT more.

Boasting the Oi You collection (remember that mammoth Banksy collection that was at Outpost?), a series of local showcases and some large scale murals by Rone, Anthony Lister and Beastman. If all that doesn’t grab your attention, then maybe the blow video will or find out more here. Stay tuned for some coverage while the event is on.

VANS the OMEGA – “Plutonic Relationships” at ABEO, Adelaide

We’ve been noticing bits and bobs on VTO’s Instagram account lately so we’re excited to get the full run down on Vans’ solo exhibition in his home town of Adelaide. This will be a show not to miss…More info below.

Vans The Omega

Joel Van Moore has been long-consumed by the bountiful allures of wanderlust. Gracing surfaces across the planet with vibrancy and colour, the artist also known as VANS the OMEGA has received warm acclaim on the global stage of Graffiti Art.

A milestone event in this artist’s career; PLUTONIC RELATIONSHIPS will be the first solo show in his hometown of Adelaide, South Australia. This exhibition is devised to expose the underlying nuances of soul and contemplation that are fused within VANS the OMEGA’s mindscape, manifested through an array of expressions and forms.

In his own words, PLUTONIC RELATIONSHIPS “is a visual footprint of the myriad of human emotions and conditioning we face within every moment, reverse engineered through sacred geometric visions, textures and soundscapes.”

Hosted on the walls of ABEO’s studio space on Unley Road, PLUTONIC RELATIONSHIPS is a must-see event during 2012?s SALA Festival.
