Opening: ‘Project Ugly’ Past Present & Future for Leichhardt Fringe – Sydney

PAST – PROJECT UGLY ON SHOW
A public exhibition displaying a selection of billboards from the Project Ugly collection, and curated by the program founder Tony Kenny. Featuring Ears, Birdhat, Numskull & Beastman (collaboration), Max Berry, Tom Ferson, Mistery, Jamie Preisz and Thomas Jackson.

Exhibition duration: Wednesday 16 – Sunday 27, September, 2015

PRESENT – TWO BILLBOARDS – TWO ARTISTS LIVE UNDER THE CLOCK TOWER
Two well-known artists, and early Project Ugly pioneers, will be painting live in the Leichhardt Town Hall Civic Precinct. This is a great opportunity for emerging street artists to see established artists at work, and to see how far these artists have developed in style and technique.

FUTURE – THE FUTURE OF AUSTRALIAN STREET ART
Location: 214 Albion Street, Leichhardt (just off Catherine St)
Two live paintings over two weekends at the Project Ugly Billboard site, focusing on younger artists and the future of street art in Australia. One emerging Street Artist will win the opportunity to paint and their work will become part of the Project Ugly collection. The second live painting will be carried out by the Ted Noffs Street University under the guidance of Mystery.

Dates: Weekends of 5 + 6, 26 + 27 September

Opening: Artesian4 group show – North Sydney

Artesian4 is pleased to announce their first art show: ‘Urban Art – Parked!’. This show will feature street, pop and urban artists, open free to the public in an unorthodox ‘gallery’: Wilson Parking’s Ward Street car park in North Sydney. A diverse range of artists has been selected for this exhibition, including Johnny Romeo, Elliott ‘Numskull’ Routledge, Phibs, CAMO, Karen Farmer, Neil Tomkins, Peque VRS, ZOEZO, Tom Ferson and Jenna ‘YoNa’ Bloom.

This is the first in a series of shows, both standalone and in conjunction with art festival events, to be held in and around the Sydney CBD over the next year. Funds raised at the event (from donations and a portion of sales) will be donated to Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets.

Urban Art – Parked! will be open to the public from 12noon to 5pm on Saturday 6 June and from 10am to 2pm on Sunday 7 June.

A number of art works will be available for sale and silent auction, commission-free. If you are interested in attending or getting involved, please contact info@bigpic.com.au or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to stay in the loop.

Video: Phibs and co for Ozanam – Sydney

If you live in or around Sydney’s Inner West, then you will have probably seen the new Ozanam building being painted by some of the country’s finest street AND graffiti artists, all of which were brought on board by one of the city’s legends, Phibs.

Artists involved were Phibs, Numskull, Linz, Beastman, Thomas Jackson, Birdhat, Ears, Max Berry, Mystery, Scram, Sytak, Brick, Amuse, Perso, Pudl, Skier, Peak, and Pesm. (I think that’s it, but there may have been additions recently). Stay tuned for a full set of photos. In the meantime, check out this great video.
