Last night we went along to see Mark Bode perform his (formerly his fathers) ‘Cartoon Concert’. A truly enjoyable evening of experiencing the Bode family artwork come to life via a slideshow and super funny voices by Mark Bode himself. If you missed out, well, too bad. However don’t miss out on his exhibition of original artwork at China Heights, this Friday night.

If you know anything about graffiti, then you know the Bode family. Both Mark and father Vaughn have together created some of the most iconic characters to have ever influenced the graffiti and street art culture. Cheech Wizard… Cobalt 60… and so on.

Mark Bode brings a selection of sketches and paintings to Sydney and Melbourne this month. More details below:

Mark Drew – No Money, No Wife

Mark Drew is one of Sydney’s finest (although he now lives in Japan). He’s got it right. He’s the co-founder of China Heights, graphic artist, and all round nice guy.

This Friday he is teaming up with New Era to release a limited number of snapback hats called “NO MONEY, NO WIFE”.

Get down to the Heights this Friday from 6-10pm for your chance to snap up a hat, and also see a selection of recent photographic work by Drew.

Sundial – Mark Alsweiler

We are a bit late on this, but it’s too good to go to our photo graveyard.

Mark Alsweiler opened his solo show “Sundial” at China Heights a few weeks back and it was packed. The work was solid and the craftsmanship of the sculptures was a new step for Mark.

Apologies for the photos, as we said, it was packed out for the opening.

Mark Alsweiler has been super busy of late…

12 x 12 last week (a few of his pieces are still available online), a show coming up at Nine Lives (Brisbane) and now this Friday (29th July) night he opens his solos show cat China Heights titled “Sundial”. Get down to the Heights on Friday night 6pm to see Mark’s latest body of work including small to large scale paintings and sculptures.

Last Friday was the opening of “THERE’S ALWAYS A LAST TIME FOR EVERYTHING”. The group showing of some of the nicest, creative, most talented artists/designers in Sydney. Joseph Allen Shea, Stephanie Anderson + Dave Ladd, We Buy Your Kids and Mark Drew. We weren’t able to make the night, so we’re lucky to get a whole bunch of images from the exhibition.
