Darlinghurst Car Wash

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Alot of art in Darlinghurst is hidden away in the back alleys and streets, which often makes it enjoyable to walk around and discover.

One spot which stands out for us is the Darlinghurst car wash on Victoria st/Darlinghurst rd. Now also the home of a massive JumboZap text poster.

The wall was painted in 2004 by Numskull, Teazer, Minigraff, Vexta, Zap, Delpar and Imago.

Cara Stricker, Numskull & Roach

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

An interesting new exhibition we’re keen to have a look at is ‘Dancing on my bed’. An eclectic mix of photography by Cara Stricker and graffiti/art by Numskull & Roach (see our previous post on their collaboration here).

“Sydney’s premiere art space the ABSOLUT Stairwell Gallery is pleased to announce the launch of a
photographic exhibition by Cara Stricker – DANCING ON MY BED

Inspired by music, Stricker has developed a photographic exhibition that will take you into the
shadows of the music world. With a showcase of photos taken from her insight into the festivals,
rock concerts and intimate performances of the music world including London, New York and
beyond. With her dreamy film?esque photographs you will be taken on a ride through the emotion,
characters and settings that make the music industry one of the most enchanting in the world.

Complementing Stricker’s exhibition will be graffiti murals by renown Sydney artists Numskull and
Roach. With music supplied by Strickmachine, Nicky Night Time and Holiday Sidewinder.”
