THE HOURS Launch Exhibition Sydney

When The Opening Hours first started, it was a means to fill the gap. A way to document a part of the art world that was going unnoticed.

After almost exactly 3 years of going strong, we are gearing up to get even stronger. We are proud to announce that we are officially launching THE HOURS.

“THE HOURS is a joint venture by three long time friends and artists, Brad Eastman (Beastman), Marty Routledge and Numskull. These three Sydney locals have each been instrumental in developing and enriching the Australian contemporary, street, graffiti and low brow art community over the last decade. They are now combining their many skills, fans, ideas, contacts and thriving ambition into THE HOURS, which promises to be an innovative creative force for years to come.”

To celebrate the launch, THE HOURS presents an exhibition of new paintings by a few our friends. Some of the most well known and respected artists in Australia. You won’t want to miss this show…

25th March Reka at Backwoods

31st March Miso at No Vacancy Federation square

1st April Kill Pixie at the Madman Void

1st of April – RTIST Group Show & Unofficial Opening

Everfresh: Live at the NGV Studio

The NGV Studio has recently been host to the Formula 1 crew doing live painting at the new space. Next up is the Everfresh lads. If you’re down in the burn, get there and see Phibs, Rone, Maka, Meggs, Wonderlust & special guest Miso. More details below.

“We will be painting the inside of the atrium while renovations take place, the wall will be up for a month then another crew will come in and paint. Kind of like a city laneway but in a national gallery, if that makes sense.”

Miso at Gorker

Gorker Gallery in Melbourne presents one of Melbourne’s finest…Miso.

‘Tchusse’ sees Miso re-create & condense her home city into a gallery. Kharkov {Ukraine} becomes a floor to ceiling installation – portraits of strangers in the street, of friends, folk stories and things otherwise forgotten, turned into a city built from paper, material and decaying wood, as Miso replicates buildings, street signs and notices, ladders, empty bottles, criminal tattoos and clothesline and clothesline from memory. In this way, Tchusse becomes an extension if Miso’s widely renowned work as a street artist, as well as being her most ambitious installation & gallery project yet.”
