Bennett’s solo show “Oranges & Lemons” opens at Oh Really Gallery this Thursday May 19th, and it looks like it’s going to be a killer body of work. The man himself sent us through a few sneaky preview shots of the work he will be displaying at the show. He’s really stepped up with this latest collection of paintings, which he has poured his love of stencils, posters, and bold colours into. Check out the photos and a process video below.

Sneak peek: Tom Ferson at Oh Really

This Thursday (24th March) is the debut solo opening of Tom Ferson‘s exhibition at Oh Really Gallery in Newtown. “Bravery, Repetition and Noise” will feature Tom’s new series that is both stunning to explore and seemingly playful with tongue-in-cheek situations.

We stopped by his new studio to check out how it’s all shaping up and by the looks of it, he’s now totally finished and ready to hang. If you’re free…actually, no, screw your plans, get down to Oh Really this Thursday to check it out. The work is amazing. You won’t be dissapointed.

Tom Ferson: Bravery, Repetition and Noise

“Tom works with found images in a manner reminiscent of the life and world of a young artist working in the Inner West; a world of colour, fashion, music and sexuality. Working from a variety of found images, his work often juxtaposes intricate and hypnotic line work and patternation with bold spray painting techniques inspired by the thriving street art scene that surrounds him.”

We were lucky enough to see a few of Tom’s pieces at his studio recently and to say we were shocked and amazed would be an understatement. Tom uses some really unique techniques to create images that are bold, breathtaking and super colourful. I highly recommend going to see this show.

Preview: Max Berry

When I think of Max Berry, I visualize his super tight black and white characters high up on street posts and electrical boxes. If you know what i’m talking about, take those characters and give them a high dosage of colour and life and you’ve got Max’s new body of work for his upcoming show “A search for ground in higher places”. This is some of the most inspiring and interesting work to come out of Sydney to date. No bullshit, we love it.

Last night, we made our way to Newtown through the hoards of Wu Tang punters to check out the Teazer show at Oh Really.
