We are now half way through December, so it’s about the time when shopping centres start packing full with families, kids, grandma’s, grandpa’s and last minute shoppers. We prefer to stay out of harms way and shop online. Below is a list of goodies to fill either your or someone else’s stocking.
1. We currently have a rare zine/screenprinted bag package from Sydney’s infmaous SLUG.
At only $15 it’s a steal. Click here.

2. Meggs has just released a Boxed Edition T-Shirt which includes a hand screenprinted box, with signed 3 colour A4 screenprint & Meggs stickers. These look really top quality. Get one while you can. Click here.

3. Another Everfresh member, REKA has a few screenprints for sale at the moment. All are equally as good, this one jumped out at us though. Click here.

4. Numskull has released a brand new edition of one colour stencil prints with Stupid Krap. The edition is only a small 25, so get in quick. Click here.

5. After seeing her immense floating girl wall at Outpost, we’re sure everyone will be jumping on these limited prints by Vexta. Click here.

6. Off the back of his Outpost murals and current exhibition ‘Cosmic Nature’, Beastman has also released a limited edition zine documenting ALL of his outdoor walls. Click here.

7. Dangerfork is one of the newest print stores to appear on the scene, with their release by PRIZM catching our eye. Prizm hardly ever releases new artwork so this is a rare opportunity. Click here.

8. Finally, Gallery AS (as we have mentioned) have released a print with Mark Whalen (Kill Pixie). We have picked one of these up for ourselves and we reccomend you do the same. The artwork is classic and the print quality is second to none. Click here.

Ok, so. There have been murmurs of a big street art / graffiti festival happening for the last few months and finally all the details have been released.
“OUTPOST” is the largest street art event to ever happen in Australia and will feature over 100 local and international artists. Presented by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust in association with aMBUSH Gallery it will be held on Cockatoo Island in Sydney, opening on the 4th of November.
The list of artists is quite a long one, and quite frankly, too long to type here so we’ll just name drop a few that we’re excited to see work from on the island: Everfresh, Lister, Ben Frost’s Past Modernism, Phibs & Co, Kid Zoom returns to Oz, Dmote, Numskull, Beastman, Jumbo, Roa, Ethos, Vexta, Minigraff, Zap, Will Coles, The full collection of Project Ugly, Shida, Sync, Ghostpatrol, Secret Wars, Max Berry, Banksy?, Ears, and so many more….
Check out some more info on the project here.

Normally what happens at Mays is that a bunch of different artists float in at random times (sometimes all at once) and paint sections of the main wall, including 4 small panels and one large. The format has been great, allowing as many artists as possible to come whenever and display their work.
However, this year sees the new format. Like when they first started, Mays gives one artist the whole laneway to decorate themselves from top to bottom, side to side. To kick it off they have chosen Melbourne based Vexta, who has painted the laneway a couple of times since it’s beginnings so the Mays team were super excited to have her on board for the whole wall.
We headed down to May Lane, St Peters today (just as the rain subsided) to check out Vexta in action as she prepares the whole feature wall of the Mays project.
Opening 6PM Friday 8 April, 2011.

MAY’S presents VEXTA
Opening 6PM Friday 8 April, 2011
MAY’S presents exhibition of street art by Melbourne based VEXTA
MAY’S is excited to present Melbourne artist VEXTA. VEXTA will introduce her magical winged figures to the lane. These half-human half-animal creatures explore the way we have confined ourselves in our concrete jungles and the effect this has on our psyches. VEXTA’s obsession with cosmology, concepts of life, death and the future of mankind form the basis of her work.
VEXTA will be painting the massive 24 meter length of MAY’S Lane; the feature panel measuring 360x276cm plus 4 panels 235x160cm.
Artist Statement
‘Sometimes we are so alienated from everything and everyone around us and yet sometimes I feel like the tiny atomic particles keeping our bodies together could fracture at any moment and it could all merge together…’ – VEXTA
VEXTA’S work has been shown in exhibitions across Australia and internationally and she recently spent time creating site specific wall works in Paris, Berlin, London and Bogota.
About MAY’S Lane
The MAY’S Lane Art Project is an outdoor gallery space located in St Peters in Sydney’s inner west. In April 2005, Tugi Balog joined with artist Jim Singline to create MAY’S, a project aimed at highlighting and further promoting the laneway’s activity. Each month MAY’S invites Street Artist/s to paint in the exhibition space that consists of five panels hung in window spaces along the side of the Graphic Art Mount building in May Lane. At months close, the panels are taken down and replaced afresh for the next ‘chapter’ in the project. The artworks are on view 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Alot of art in Darlinghurst is hidden away in the back alleys and streets, which often makes it enjoyable to walk around and discover.
One spot which stands out for us is the Darlinghurst car wash on Victoria st/Darlinghurst rd. Now also the home of a massive JumboZap text poster.
The wall was painted in 2004 by Numskull, Teazer, Minigraff, Vexta, Zap, Delpar and Imago.
