A lot of the artists involved also travelled from all corners of the world to be in Hong Kong for the exhibition, and to paint as many walls as possible. This is what went down….

Photos: Neon Golden group show at Above Second gallery – Hong Kong

Now that we’re all back and home in one piece, we’re going to slowly but surely recap our epic adventure to Hong Kong with some of Australia’s finest street, graffiti and low brow artists.

The main reason we were in HK was to curate a group show at Above Second gallery. We gathered artworks from a select group of Australian artists who are heavily involved in BOTH the outdoor mural scene and inside galleries. A broad group of talent that we thought best represent Australia’s diversity, whilst also pulling together a solid group of friends.

The show is still on. If you’re in Hong Kong, click here for details.

Stay tuned for more photos from the trip. Thanks to Kyle for the great photos. Click below for the full set.

Wonderwalls Wollongong recap – A Discussion with the artists

Last weekend was a big one for us… (hence the lack of posts lately)

We took many handfuls of Australia’s best street art and graffiti artists to Wollongong (an hour south of Sydney) and hosted an exhibition, a discussion and a series of small to large scale murals around Wollongong city centre. It was called Wonderwalls.

A massive thank you to Verb Syndicate, Water for Water and especially Ironlak for supplying the paint. We couldn’t have done it without their support. To the artists that were part of the exhibition, thanks for your great work. To the artists that painted murals around town on the weekend, thank you thank you thank you. We had a blast, and Wollongong is brighter for your efforts…

We are going to post all of the photos over the next few days. To start off, click below to see a full set of photos from the artist talk, which was an intimate chat with Rone, Meggs, Phibs, Beastman, Yok, Sheryo, Numskull and Roach. Stay tuned for the rest of the Wonderwalls recap…
